Summary


Provides Human Resources support to assigned function, including but not limited to, recruitment and retention, staffing and orientation, employee relations, project management, training, and development, and assisting in the coordination of human resource planning initiatives. Minimum 3 years related experience.



Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with departments to develop annual employee training plans. This should include technical skills, product or process specific training and leadership development opportunities.
  • Provides day to day business HR partnership and consultation for assigned functional team.
  • Provide coaching and advice to management on effective ways to administer HR programs and manage employee issues.
  • Partners with cross-functional HR peers, HR centers of excellence and other business support functions including but not limited to, Staffing, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Finance and Legal on various business needs.
  • Site expert on Alchemy use, development, and deployment.
  • Oversee Personal Qualification Requirement development, use, update, and relevancy.
  • Continuous Skill Development (CSD). Paterson site CSD leader.
  • Participate in the implementation of approved employee relations' policies and practices, providing professional and technical assistance to functional leadership.
  • Coordinate site training activities throughout the year.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Facilitate, in partnership with staffing organization and the business partners, recruitment pipeline for current openings, candidate selection and future talent needs.
  • Work with HR, Safety, and departmental leadership to coordinate new employee orientation to be timely and effective.
  • Assist in implementing approved programs and policies to ensure enhancement and acceptance of diversity and proper EEO/AAP legal compliance.
  • Leads overall organization of Human Resource programs within the assigned function, including but not limited to, EEO, unemployment, litigation, retention, termination, turnover, and severance issues.
  • Designs and executes ad hoc reporting, conducts analysis, and draws conclusions that aide in making sound business decisions.


Position Requirements


Basic & Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Workday or other HRIS
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change in a dynamic business environment as well as conflict management and mediation skills.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP or advanced degree a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Human Resources
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with a strong sense of urgency
  • Experience with ERISA, EEOC and DOL regulations, employment sourcing, communications, human relations, and management skills
  • Experience with benefits and compensation administration, market pricing, labor law, and organizational development
  • Ability to develop strong consulting relationships and influence business leaders through coaching and partnership.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Effective and deliberate communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).


Physical Environment/Demands


  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, twist, and turn frequently.
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level and in high places to perform job duties—the ability to operate work-related equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders to enter equipment regularly.
  • Exposed to outdoor and indoor environments that vary from hot to cold, exposure for up to 14 hours per work day, including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells, and allergies
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead and in or under the equipment.
