Job Description

Multiplier’s mission is to accelerate impact for initiatives focused on protecting and fostering a healthy, sustainable, resilient and equitable world. Growing threats to our planet and its people require holistic solutions, both locally and globally. The projects in our portfolio span a broad array of cross-sector strategies in land and ocean conservation, public health, education and leadership, economic development, clean energy, climate resilience, sustainable food systems, energy efficiency, social and environmental equity, and more. Learn more about us at www.multiplier.org.

We are seeking a colleague to join our remote team in the newly created position of HR Generalist and Benefits Manager, and we are poised to hire immediately. Reporting to Multiplier’s Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist and Benefits Manager will hold a leadership and accelerator role with many employee-centered elements of the HR ecosystem for our 200+ employees, serving as an employee’s first point of contact for all general HR matters while driving Multiplier’s comprehensive benefits programs with an emphasis on providing excellent service and support to all employees.

At Multiplier, we care deeply about fostering a culture of discovery, inclusivity, and equity. We believe that global justice and peace can only be achieved if our shared values embrace diversity of background, lived experience, and self-expression. To that end, we welcome all applicants and their inherent uniqueness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Manage multiple key elements of employee benefits, including overarching programs, enrollments, and leaves of absence.

  • Overarching programs: Oversee the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, COBRA, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k), time off accruals, and other ancillary benefits.
  • Leaves of absence: Advise our employees on leave-related benefits and policies. Process and administer all leave of absence requests and related paperwork (e.g. FMLA, disability)
  • Enrollments: Hold primary responsibility for maintaining benefits enrollments in our HRIS, UKG and conducting audits to ensure accurate eligibility and enrollment information with vendors.

Together with the Director of HR and other team members, routinely and systematically evaluate Multiplier’s HR strategies, practices, and procedures.

  • Seeking and leveraging opportunities to intentionally imbed principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the HR team’s everyday work.
  • Identifying HR-related best practices and resourcing employees, managers, and new projects appropriately by developing and providing FAQs and other HR tools.

Serve as a first point of contact for general HR inquiries from Multiplier team members regarding onboarding, position and compensation changes, offboarding, and verifications of employment.

  • Providing compassionate, individualized support and vital transition information to employees experiencing employment changes (e.g. FTE change, pay change) as well as those going through voluntary or involuntary transitions out of Multiplier.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

You enjoy tackling multiple projects at once. You geek out on benefits while also enjoying the variety of other aspects of HR. Approachable and respectful of the full menu of human diversity, you easily forge connections and give others the sense that they are in capable hands with you on their side. You have high integrity and ethics, EQ, and organizational drive, and thrive when collaborating with a team of dedicated, low-drama professionals who come to work every day ready to deepen our impact in the world without taking themselves too seriously. You enjoy working hard to set others up for success and are always looking for new ways to add to your repertoire of skills. Your superpower is wrangling people in a gentle but firm and effective way. You are level-headed, industrious, and efficient, yet comfortable with not always knowing the answer and using inquiry to help you explore options and guide others. You enjoy serving as a though partner along with the team to fashion creative, innovative solutions. You care about our planet and our future and you want to work in an environment that inspires you and others to action every day.

We recognize that each applicant for this role will bring unique skills, knowledge, experiences, and background to this position, lending his/her/their flair to the trajectory of Multiplier. We welcome diverse experiences and perspectives in our applicant pool, and will be looking for candidates who possess many, but not necessarily all, of the following qualifications and experience:

  • Ability to act in a compassionate, caring, human-centered, professional manner and use appropriate judgment on sensitive, confidential issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to proactively solve complex issues and business requirements
  • Experience with HRIS software, preferably UKG
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular Excel)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years proven work experience in an HR or HR-adjacent role
  • 2+ years proven work experience in benefits administration

COMPENSATION:

Multiplier provides a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive pay ($70,000-85,000/year), excellent medical and dental benefits, retirement savings, and generous vacation and sick leave policy.

HOW TO APPLY:

To apply, please visit our Applicant Portal. Applications will be accepted until position is filled. First screening will start April 24th, 2022. Please include a cover letter describing your relevant experience and qualifications. We respectfully request no follow-up calls or emails.
