StarCare Specialty Health System seeks to hire a talented, mission driven, person-centered Hospital Administrator to join the Sunrise Canyon Hospital Team!
Hospital Administrator Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management to the overall operations of Sunrise Canyon Hospital, a 30-bed acute inpatient psychiatric hospital.
- Ensure compliance with governing board policies and objectives.
- Oversee the provision of cost effective treatment with focus on high qualify treatment and care of patients.
- Lead a multi-talented team consisting of psychiatric providers, nurses, social workers, therapists, and rehabilitation professionals.
This role requires the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of all hospital resources, including human resources, facilities, equipment, and capital. This position will be responsible for the overall operation of the facility's programs according to approved policies, procedures, and Joint Commission Accreditation Standards.
Essential Duties:
- Interviews, hires, supervises, evaluates, and terminates administrative staff.
- Employs qualified personnel and provides adequate staff education.
- Serves as a liaison between the governing board, medical staff, and hospital departments, and interprets public policy.
- Oversees record and reporting systems providing for proper service control and measurement of program outcomes.
- Keeps the hospital running at FULL capacity and limits diversion following established protocols.
- Ensures the provision of adequate services through the acquisition, utilization, and organization of available resources, and directs the activities of the Medical Executive Team relative to various operations and departments.
- Communicates with the fiscal intermediary and other third-party payers as necessary to maintain good relations.
- Pro-actively approaches problem solving and takes measures to avoid crisis.
- Ensures the implementation of all policies and procedures.
- Ensures adequacy of all staff.
- Participates in hospital associations and healthcare professional organizations and provides ongoing support to ensure staff adheres to the organization's Code of Conduct.
- Collaborates with relevant personnel and departments to recommend/establish new policies and assesses availability of resources to implement care.
- Promotes good community relations through involvement in community affairs and serving on related boards and committees.
- Develops short and long-range plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with hospital goals, objectives, and philosophies, and creates an annual management plan.
- Interprets policies and procedures for the Board of Directors, including the implications of proposed policies.
Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position scheduled Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital. This position works on-site at Sunrise Canyon Hospital.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, business administration, or closely related field, or clinical degree, strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in health administration or a related field such as public health, nursing, social work, business administration, or a clinical discipline, required.
Experience:
- Experience leading within a healthcare regulated facility (such as The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years in an administrative or management position comparable to an executive level role in an inpatient setting, psychiatric preferred.
- Administrative management or supervisory experience providing service to persons with psychiatric disabilities.

- Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
