The General Manager is responsible for building and overseeing a team and culture that supports revenue generation, profitability, and loyalty through outstanding employee and customer experiences driven by process efficiency and congruent with ownership expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Through coaching develop competent SMEs and leaders in each departmental function and promote an environment of team-building that supports operational resiliency and high-performance cooperative and collaborative behaviors
• Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the OEM to support dealership performance objectives, capture all available program and reward benefits and achieve special recognition
• Exercise expense control discipline to maximize revenue flowing through to the bottom line
• Utilize commanding knowledge of Variable and Fixed Operations dynamics and design appropriate analytical tools to consistently monitor results and trends against forecast and expectations
• Lead development of the store’s Variable and Fixed advertising strategy and budget to create meaningful customer traffic to leverage the organic sales force
• Encourage employee participation and promote value in store and company-wide activities and events
• Continuously enhance the customer and employee experience by developing new tools and processes as needed to be implemented through the philosophy of “measure thrice, cut once”
• Create competitive intelligence through market research and factory data sets to identify strategies for maximizing long-term, profitable, total customer life-cycle market share in each business area
• Authentically live the Core Values daily, influence employees to do the same, and encourage good behavior
• Build tenure and limit turnover by participating as the “last stop” in the hiring process to ensure high potential and strong cultural fit of all candidates
• Develop revenue generation and customer retention strategies with each department manager in support of goals identified through competitive intelligence and business forecasting and ensure the supporting processes are consistently followed
• Lead the team with effective communication through active listening, empathy, problem-solving, and conflict management
• Lead the team by moral example at all times by maintaining a highly organized and disciplined work plan that is executed daily—be the model of productivity through constant activity

Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
