Main Function:
Serve as a member of expert resource team for visual analytics platform. Using healthcare datasets and other data sources, this role is responsible for a variety of analytical activities to design, develop, test, and trend of data to meet the information needs of our member hospitals and internal IHA staff.
Outline of Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of expert resource team for visual analytics platform.
- Gather and analyze healthcare and other related data in support of information requests, business cases, and proposed projects.
- Design, develop, and test business intelligence outputs (including visualization) to ensure useful and insightful information using software including Tableau, and Excel to support member hospitals and IHA’s policy, advocacy, and quality initiatives.
- Other duties as defined.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets.
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities to enhance data management and reporting.
- Manage customer /member needs utilizing outstanding customer service skills and program knowledge, striving for optimum customer satisfaction.
- Design, construct, test, and maintain data warehouse and related functionality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. In lieu of degree, relevant experience may be substituted. At least two years’ analyst experience with a skill set that includes organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. In addition, experience in using patient-level claims data, including ICD-10 and CPT preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences. Critical thinking as well as multi-tasking skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and time management skills. Experience with Tableau or other visual analytics platform preferred. Must have ability to work independently and in a team environment. Minimal travel. Weekly presence in an IHA office is required.
