Responsibilities:
You are passionate about improving peoples’ wellbeing. You are a skilled, passionate team player with the capacity to work in a trusted primary coach role with the coaching participants of Virgin Pulse’s clients. You are capable of promoting individual health and well-being through multiple modalities, including phone and messaging, as well as group-based sessions related to participants’ goals. You are smart so you know when and how to collaborate and find solutions to challenges.
In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including superior communication skills.
- Proficient in electronic documentation to record and track coaching experience and quick learner of new technology or systems.
- Strong ability to strategically support members using Virgin Pulse’s multi-modal approach, utilizing both messaging and telephonic sessions
- Open to feedback and improving coaching skills on-going and ability to use metrics to assist in driving individual improvement.
- Ability to support participants with a wide variety of health concerns and approaches to drive towards change and positive outcomes, including gaps in care.
- Accountable to meeting individual metrics
- Accountable to admin related tasks and showing up prepared to manager 1:1s
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once.
- A passion for utilizing coaching strategies, including motivational interviewing, appreciative inquiry, and participant led focus, for improving the health of others.
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and a solution-oriented approach. You are resilient and adaptable.
- Preventive care minded, empathic, flexible, and energetic.

Qualifications:In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience preferred in conducting individual or group coaching sessions that create a comfortable and confidential environment for participants using a primary coach model focusing on the overall well-being of the individual.
- 3-5 years of experience in fields related to health coach role preferred, including: behavioral health, general well-being, exercise training, nutrition coaching, background in nursing, etc.
- 2-4 years of experience with individual behavior change management, motivational interviewing, and health coaching.
- Tobacco cessation certification and/or experience coaching on financial well-being preferred.
- NBHWC or ICF strongly encouraged but not required.
You also take pride in offering the following Core Skills, Competencies, and Characteristics:
- Familiarity with digital health apps, comfortable with technology and web-based software tools as well as delivering health coaching by use of software/technology.
- Comfortable working with a diverse participant population and navigating complex cases.
- Ability to troubleshoot with technology.
- Proficiency in PC-based word processing and database documentation (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Outlook).

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 - $31.00 per hour. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
