Job Description

This role is a direct-hire opportunity within Drive's portfolio for one of our early-stage companies, Tandem. This is a hybrid-role based out of the Drive Capital office in the Short North.


Role Overview

The Tandem team is looking for an experienced sales leader to build out a team and scale our existing sales processes. To succeed in this role you will exhibit excellent leadership skills and an ability to drive the success of the company.

You will be our first sales leader and will be responsible for building this division of the organization from the ground up! We are a small, growing team and sales has been primarily founder-led up until this point. Now that we’ve identified some strategies that work, we are seeking a motivated, seasoned leader to build and execute.


Responsibilities

  • You will maintain and scale existing, proven sales strategies and experiment with new ones.
  • This will involve building on existing hiring and onboarding processes as well as creating and implementing new ones.
  • You will create and maintain strategic partnerships with prospective customers and affiliated organizations.
  • You will work collaboratively with different teams (engineering, product, marketing) to ensure alignment around strategy.
  • You will be responsible for hiring and onboarding.
  • You will consistently evaluate and optimize the sales funnel to improve metrics.
  • This will involve implementation and enforcement of individual and team-wide KPIs.
  • This will involve attracting a world-class sales team to help scale the company.
  • You will be responsible for your team’s success. You will constantly work to motivate your team and help individuals reach their professional goals. You will be the master of communicating the why, ensuring the team believes it, understands it, and can execute it.
  • This will involve creating and deploying continuous training processes.


Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Care or education industries.
  • Seed/Series A companies.
  • At least 7 years in the sales field, with a demonstrated ability to grow into leadership positions.
  • Experience selling a tech-enabled product or service, preferably in the B2B space.
  • Two-sided marketplaces, fin tech platforms, or B2B models.
  • Being a nice human! This is a non-negotiable
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus.
  • Experience hiring for positions throughout the sales division.
  • Experience at a fast-growing startup.
