Head of Global Operations, Rocketbook


Purpose :


Responsible for overseeing and managing the overall supply chain strategy and operations to maximize process efficiency and productivity. In addition, this position plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors. The Head of Global Operations will analyze data and processes, find creative solutions, generate reports, and communicate with both internal and external customers. Other responsibilities will include the daily management and coordination


of manufacturing & fulfillment operations which include production and budgeting while ensuring compliance with all labor, safety, environmental and corporate policies, and regulations. These responsibilities will be carried out in a manner that consistently demonstrates the established visions and values of the company. The Head of Global Operations will provide operational leadership to drive profitable growth while delivering on annual plans through appropriate planning, organizing, development and control activities. The Head of Global Operations will also partner with cross functional partners to drive improvement and manage staffing levels which fluctuate with business needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Research situations and obtain input from others to ensure fact-based solutions and answers to technical and operational problems
  • Drive the development, implementation, and advancement for Rocketbook’s Global Supply chain
  • Serve as an active member of the Rocketbook Leadership team representing Global Operations and the end to end supply chain strategy and execution
  • Apply in-depth financial knowledge, expertise and analytical skills to model potential solutions or step-function improvements in our supply chain model
  • Overse e the packaging material purchasing and management of obsolete inventory
  • Drive improvements in daily tactical process execution in the planning and scheduling functions through the development of robust planning tools, standard reports, and exception-based escalation protocols
  • Collaborate and serve as a liaison to business and functional teams to facilitate understanding of all logistics forecasts and budgets
  • Support the development of transportation and warehousing modeling and optimization processes
  • Work with the Leadership Team in planning, budgeting, organizing resources, executing work plans, monitoring production and quality, coordinating priorities, resolving issues and participating in special projects and work schedules
  • Tracking, analyzing, and reporting the pertinent KPI’s, as well as suggest and implement org specific improvement activities
  • Identify supply chain opportunities and work with parent company partners to proactively improve supply chain processes to help improve customer service, inventory management, and logistics spend
  • Develop financial impact for customer sourcing, build, freight, and distribution plans
  • Assume P&L oversight including the development and achievement of Global operations budget across the end to end Supply chain from demand planning, sourcing, making, and delivery of end products to consumers/customers
  • Development of overall global operations managers and team members
  • Oversee demand planning S&OP processes to ensure financial efficiencies and cost controls are balanced for Rocketbook and deliver on-time and in-full to meet customer demands
  • Ensure alignment between Sales, Operations, and suppliers as it relates to our inventory and customer service strategies
  • Utilize a variety of systems to provide analysis for “what-if” requests for network changes, and define optimal total supply chain solutions


CAPABILITIES:


  • Must have strong financial, mathematical & analytical skills, excellent time management, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully shape and drive continuous improvement in a startup and mature business environment
  • Working relationships with all members of Operations team to monitor and evaluate inventory positions to recommend/initiate actions based on component availability and customer service objectives
  • Proven leadership and change-management skills to drive improvements in business performance related to demand planning, inventory investment, on-time delivery performance, domestic/international freight expense, and resource/capacity utilization for the Global Operations team
  • Must be able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships within a team, within all departments, and across the Rocketbook organizatio n, within parent company, and external partners
  • Must have experience developing budgets, monitoring daily & monthly compliance to the budgets, and pivoting when necessary
  • Must be customer service oriented, understand customer demands, customer service level expectations, and execute to those demands with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, develop, and build a team
  • Prefer experience with ERP systems and a Work Order process syste m
  • Must be hands on and able to build respect and credibility
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on people , business processes, and financial management


Minimum Qualifications


  • Ability to interact with various levels of management , proactive leadership approach
  • Proven leader implementing and sustaining change
  • Hands-on Project Management experienc e
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills. Advanced use of Microsoft Excel is required
  • 8-10 years’ experience in E2E supply chain / Operations with oversight of demand planning, pr oduction and in ventory c ontrol, p urchasing, ma nufacturin g, and fulfillment delivery
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. Prefer degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent


Desired Qualifications


  • Modeling / Optimization Skills
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
  • Masters Degree, MBA or other related advanced degree
  • Experience with databases, query/reporting tools preferred
  • Anaplan and Quickbooks Enterprise Experience Preferred
