The Global Director of Legal Operations and Danaher Business System Leader (DBSL) will support all Legal and Compliance Operations around the world and will be charged by developing and implementing a global operations strategy in partnership with global Legal and Compliance senior legal leadership at Corporate, Platform and Opco level. Global Legal and Compliance operations will include, specifically support design and improvement of operational processes, their automation using the best technology, drive adoption and implementation of both processes and IT systems and create a data analytics infrastructure of any required information for legal and compliance teams to perform their functions. This role will also support strategic planning and implementation for Corporate Legal, including current Legal and Compliance Organizational Design Project.

Our DBS tools are designed to help us excel in the areas of Growth Leadership, and Lean, building on a strong foundation of DBS fundamentals (Voice of Customer, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, and Visual & Daily Management).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Drive ever‐improving results by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
  • Drive legal technology Roadmap, including technology lifecycle management.
  • Point of contact with GC for all Executive level communications related to Legal Operations.
  • Coordinates Project Management activities and Project Management Office.
  • Assist in achieving business unit Strategic Plan objectives.
  • Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the function, and provide expert counsel on appropriate tools to eliminate them (eg. develop and maintain overall L&C DBS architecture, roadmap and tools).
  • Negotiate Key Legal Vendor Agreements.
  • Support digital skill development of Legal & Compliance Associates.
  • Support installation, maintenance and improvement of Corporate Legal & Compliance KPIs and install, maintain certified practitioners/trainers (CP/CT) and Kaizen Funnels.
  • Optimize overall L&C legal spend.
  • Drive savings through procuring legal and compliance systems at a Corporate level.
  • Reduce duplicative systems used by Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Business Relationship Manager for internal IT, Finance and other stakeholders at Corporate & Platform level.
  • Install and maintain External Legal Spend analytics.
  • Identifies and supports External Legal Spend saving opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Data analytics projects.
  • Facilitate Legal & Compliance Strategic DBS Events.
  • Installs and maintains external legal vendors panel (including but not limited to law firms, professional services, etc.)
  • Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Danaher, Shingijutsu, or other).
  • Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching.
  • Further develop procured software to meet Legal and Compliance requirements.
  • Assist site / company leadership in the development of a DBS roadmap.


Qualifications:


  • Legal Technology Management Experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Global Teams.
  • Significant Legal and Compliance Operations Experience.
  • Ability to drive effective change management in a Global and matrix environment.
  • External Vendor Management Procurement Experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior executives.
  • Continuous Improvement, Lean or DBS experience; DBSL Preferred - Candidate will be required to pursue DBSL competency model.
  • People management experience preferred.


Education and/or Experience:


  • JD or local equivalent and a minimum of 10 years experience.


Travel


  • Approximately 20-40% travel (domestic & international).


Work Arrangement


This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement in which you can work remotely from your home. Additional information about this remote work arrangement will be provided by your interview team.


Equal Pay Act


The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.


This range may be modified in the future.


This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
