Job Description

Opportunity. Miami Homes For All seeks candidates to be MHFA’s Housing Recruitment Manager (HRM). We are looking for a motivated and resourceful individual to help ensure that all youth and families have a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. The HRM is responsible for identifying and building relationships with affordable landlords/property owners, creating a directory of affordable housing units, maintaining a list of youth and family-focused housing navigators in Miami-Dade County, providing youth and family-serving housing navigators with property leads, and supporting referrals of youth to housing opportunities.


An ideal candidate has experience as a real estate broker, or housing navigator, or relevant sales or communications experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Identify and build relationships with affordable landlords or property owners/managers. The HRM will be responsible for recruiting, engaging, and maintaining relationships with landlords to expand the supply of affordable housing for youth and families experiencing housing instability or homelessness. This includes:
  2. Research rental markets and networks to identify potential landlords for voucher participants or affordable housing (for households making below 50% AMI or with a subsidy). Generate leads for outreach and recruitment.
  3. Maintain consistent communications with landlords via telephone, e-mail, and virtual and in-person methods.
  4. Collect and share feedback from landlords or property owners about housing programs with Miami-Dade Continuum of Care (CoC) Housing Navigators serving youth and families.
  5. Proactively recruit landlords and community partners to participate in housing programs by promoting and educating them. Hold regular events such as workshops, roundtable discussions, and focus groups and provide recommendations to the CoC.


  1. Develop and maintain an inventory list of affordable housing units. The HRM will inform the design and maintain an affordable housing database with all affordable housing units across Miami-Dade County (Padmission). Padmission will inform a more extensive pilot database of affordable housing. The HRM must maintain entries of units to the database. Engage and coordinate Continuum of Care housing navigators to inform Padmission.


  1. Inform landlords about the Homeless Trust’s (HT) RentConnect program and landlord mitigation fund. The HRM will market the RentConnect program and the Padmission tool to prospective landlords and explain all program facets and paperwork requirements.
  2. Share all affordable housing entries for the HT to manage.
  3. Support the system of care to refer or match youth to housing opportunities.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. Education and Experience
  2. Bachelor’s degree is required—preference for experience in real estate, property management, or housing choice voucher programs.
  3. Real estate and sales experience. The ideal candidate will have a sales or real estate background. They must have a basic understanding of engaging property owners and managers. They may also have experience working with Housing Navigators to streamline housing referrals.

  2. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google+ Suite, Hootsuite, Canva, Salesforce, MLS, and Prezi).
  3. Assists the Youth Program Director, as necessary, with their duties and responsibilities.
  4. Other duties as needed.

  2. Clear and engaging verbal communication.
  3. Able to write concisely and in a manner that builds relationships.
  4. Spanish and Creole speakers are preferred but optional.
