Gossip/Celebrity Content Writer

*This is a freelance remote role paid by article produced.

HotNewHipHop is unlike any other online publication. With a cult-like and vocal readership, we work at a lightning-fast pace, in order to stay one step ahead of the news cycle and ensure we provide accurate, timely, and engaging stories across a variety of different verticals under the Pop Culture umbrella: from Hip-Hop and R&B music to sports, to sneakers, to movies and TV, and more.

We are seeking a Gossip/Celebrity Writer to contribute evergreen and list-based articles for our site HotNewHipHop.com. This person should be already entrenched in all things pop culture, and Hollywood, and extremely familiar with a variety of social media channels as sources for news, alongside major publications– the ideal candidate already checks these sources daily.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure SEO, formatting, and quality guidelines are followed with every article you produce.
• Contribute a minimum of 20 articles per week.
• Research and source their topics proficiently.
• Pitch regular content ideas about Gossip/Celebrities.
• Work under tight deadlines and submit articles for publication on time.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to produce exquisite content.
• Ability to maintain a contracted freelance schedule.
• Report to the Editors and implement feedback efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Availability to meet the required article quota.
• Previous experience working with WordPress and Yoast SEO is an asset.
• You have an in-depth knowledge of celebrity and gossip news.
• Minimum of 1-year working experience in an editorial team.
• You take direction well, always implement feedback, and have strong time management skills
• Your writing is clear, concise, and engaging, and requires very little editing.
