Title: Educational Content Writer (Python, SQL, AI, ML)

Location: Remote

Duration: 3+ Months (medical, dental, vision benefits offered)

This content development role sits is part of a team within the Education for Social Impact org that creates external-facing educational content and programming. We’re a team of Instructional Designers, Program Managers and Technical Program Managers, Video Specialists, and Writers with extensive expertise in both education and products. Our mission is to expand opportunities and reduce inequities via technology; we do this by creating programs and content that help learners of all ages build the foundational technology skills to be successful in work and life.

The Role

Our client is looking for content writers to develop adult learning content for online formats. You will work closely with instructional designers, program managers, product managers, video specialists, and marketing teams to develop engaging, appropriate, and effective learning experiences for adult learners. You will support content development process across technical certificates and content projects. You will create/edit educational content about Python, SQL, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in relatable ways for beginner and advanced learners. Content includes video scripts, labs, quizzes, hands-on activities, closed captions, marketing/promotional resources, and online instructions for adult learners.

Superb writing and editing skills are necessary for this position, along with the ability to learn or upskill on new products and technologies, multitask, locate relevant information online and work within deadlines. This position will involve writing, editing, ideating, compiling, manipulating, and paraphrasing content. It requires strong leadership to envision and create new activities, and the project management abilities to follow them through to completion. Knowledge of and/or experience in Python, SQL, AI and/or ML is required for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or professional equivalent
• Comfort and tolerance for ambiguity-- willingness to work on problems that aren’t neatly define
• Experience with teaching/writing about Python, SQL, AI and/or ML
• A minimum of 2-3 years of defining programs and designing learning experiences.
• A background writing on Data Analytics or in the Data Analytics field is a plus!
• Experience with educational, editorial, technical copywriting, including demonstrated ability to write engaging instructional text.
• Ability to deliver content on time and to specification in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Familiarity with and experience using G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
• Highly collaborative team player; experienced working with product, engineering and content teams
• Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with and passion for instructional methodologies, educational tools and techniques, and their appropriate application
• Experience developing educational materials for adult learners
• Experience with Python or another coding language

Responsibilities

• Support other priority Career Certificates projects as they move into the active updates phase
• Provide feedback on lessons, supplementary materials, videos, website, etc.
• Generate certificate curriculum, case studies and other educational materials for adult audiences
• Become familiar with the Certificate style guide and learning objectives and audit course content
• Update technical content, assessments, and labs to meet changing industry standards
• Attend team meetings and 1:1 discussions
• Create supplemental materials like lesson plans, assessments, image illustrations, GIFs, rubrics
• Support certificate maintenance and development; update projects by editing current content and/or creating new assets to align with course update roadmap and learning objectives
• Action on learner or expert feedback and flags to improve learning materials

The hourly pay range for this position is $35 - $48/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
