Global Learning Technologist (LMS Administrator)
Do you have a passion for learning and technology? We are seeking a forward-thinking Global Learning Technologist to help create and deploy best-in-class onboarding, robust learning experiences, and leadership development programs for Allegion. Apply your expertise in learning design and technology as the Global Learning Technologist for the Allegion LMS.
You will collaborate with HR leaders, the Global Talent Team, business partners, consultants, and instructional designers to understand business and learning needs and design innovative, technology-driven solutions. Working with the Global Learning Experience Designer, you will consult on design approaches, evaluate technical feasibility, and create learning experiences utilizing technology. This is the primary Administrator for the Global Allegion Learning Management System.
With a strong focus on the learner experience, attention to detail and an eye for excellent design, this role moves quickly with a high degree of ownership. There aren't constraints regarding how things have been done before as innovation is key to success. This role reports to the Director, Global Learning and Capability Development.
What You Will Do:
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and systems; stays informed of future trends Writes and maintains technical procedures and policy documentation.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues relating to user access and experience, system functionality and software systems by working with internal IT and stakeholders
  • Creates and manages user structures including the creation of user groups and learning cohorts, user logins as needed and assigns user permissions. Manages course enrollment including progress tracking and dashboards.
  • Collaborates with the Global Learning Business Partner on training needs and opportunities for the expansion of talent development within the organization.
  • Manages relationship with the internal procurement department, internal IT, internal Legal advisors, and third-party vendors.
  • Manages tracking of course revisions and history.
  • Manages the testing of new features that integrate with the LMS by facilitating and managing vendor vetting and training.
  • Tracks usage of tools and the learning management system features to provide reports on trends and creates and executes a plan to address those issues and trends.
  • Populates course information, assigns learners, and manages the course library.
  • Serves as point of contract for the IT escalation process for support issues, which may include interaction with internal IT team, LMS vendor and other vendor support services.
  • Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing data and recommending solutions to utilize the LMS to deliver, track training and measure performance to meet organizational objectives.
  • Develops and updates standardized tools and reporting for ongoing access to learning information; generates standard and custom reports.
  • Creates and manages the overall course structure and sets up course programs based on specifications from the instructional designer; builds online assessments and evaluations.
  • Publishes/archives online or blended learning solutions, assigns training curricula, and adds and deletes learning assets.
  • Manages Community Learning Areas (Channels) within the LMS including Channel Experts. Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, issues, and suggested enhancements.
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Familiarity with web services, APIs, databases, or back-end application infrastructure
  • Proven ability to successfully manage projects including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, delivering results, and communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Technical skills including troubleshooting, social learning trends, and database management; ability to gain new technical skills quickly
  • Strong knowledge of course design and development
  • Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies, such as HTML
  • 5 years in learning roles with min 2 years’ experience as an LMS administrator
  • Customer service skills, responsive attitude; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors
In addition, you ideally have:
  • Coursework /certifications relating to LMS Administration
  • Strong command of data analytics software such as Excel and Power BI
  • Social media or knowledge management experience
  • Experience working with a global organization with multiple languages

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Salary Range: $56,400 – 104,700. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
