Performs technical work converting geographic information to digital data. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

The full salary range for this position is $23.60/hour to $40.12/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.

• Provides maps/apps and quantitative analysis for citizens and all county departments.
• Develops and implements solutions to problems involving geographic data and products;
• Creates addresses through the Stafford County asset management system;
• Researches and resolves conflicting data problems;
• Performs related task as required.
• Prepares and maintains files and records;
• Performs quality control measures on our base layers (addresses, streets, and structures);
• Delineates building footprints and streets;
• Prepares and maintains files and records;
• Performs routine daily work, such as land records management, creation, and maintenance of geographic data sets, research, and mapping;

• Ability to use personal computer, office equipment, and related software;
• General knowledge of computer software and hardware;
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas both vocally and in writing;
• Government officials, and the general public.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates,
• Knowledge of principles and concepts of Geographic Information System (GIS);

• Working experience in the following software is preferred: ArcPro, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online and/or Enterprise, ArcGIS Field Maps/Collector, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), Adobe Acrobat.
• Bachelor's degree in Geography with emphasis on Geographic Information Systems OR an Environmental, Planning, or closely related degree w/GIS Certificate is required.
• Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, and occasional medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, lifting and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm’s length, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and hazards.
