Location: 15498 K Road


Pay Range: $17.60-$25.04

Summary


The Environmental GIS Technician coordinates the Clean Water Act Section 319 and Wetland programs. Coordination of programs include grant development, implementation, and reporting. In addition, this position is responsible for providing GIS support to environmental programs.


Minimum Requirements


Driving: Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and be insurable with the Nation's insurance


Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience, a record of satisfactory attendance and performance


Education: A two-year College degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Geography, or related discipline


Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.


Knowledge


  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, business and management, and public safety and security
  • General knowledge of Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and the using scientific rules and methods to problem solve.
