Your Opportunity + Impact

The GIS Analyst will provide support in developing spatial data management solutions and analytics and is responsible for providing project and operational support through Geographic Information Systems (GIS) utilization. This position is responsible for managing project phases, working with project teams, integrating new and existing data sets to perform various analyses, preparation of paper and electronic deliverables, establishing systems, and analyzing processes for internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops software standards for geo-referencing information.
  • Identifies areas where change, use, or increased use of GIS systems would provide increased speed, accuracy or efficiency within the divisions.
  • Trains and educates users on CAD and GIS programs and their effective usages.
  • Develops tools focused on process improvement and workflow automation (Python, Model Builder, etc.).
  • Communicates with clients.
  • Provides GIS training and technical expertise support to department staff.
  • Provides project coordination for specific GIS projects and implementation of other related new systems.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years job-related experience; Eight (8) + preferred.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in GIS related field (Survey Technology, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science) or related field of study preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: GIS Certificate preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Must possess advanced technical breadth and depth in Geospatial data manipulation, management, and analysis. Must be proficient with CAD and GIS integration. Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and knowledge of application development concepts and programming languages a plus. Must be familiar with Autodesk, Bentley MicroStation, SQL/and Server infrastructure. Experience with UAV/Drone and Point cloud data preferred.

Hands-on experience with the following is preferred:

  • Application development (WAB, Story Maps, custom apps)
  • Portal/ Server/ ArcGIS online (Web GIS)
  • Database management in an enterprise environment
  • Conceptualize project from start to finish
  • Mobile application (Survey 123, Collector, geo form)
  • Use of ArcGIS Platform for statistical and network analysis
  • Application of GIS in an AEC capacity
  • Cartography
  • ArcGIS Desktop
