YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are looking for a FSQA Technical Specialist in USA. Your mission will be to:
Purpose (Objective): The incumbent provides technical services to the clients of Merieux NutriSciences, which include food safety and quality program temporary assignments, sampling/swabbing, FSMA assessments, prerequisite program reviews and development, environmental monitoring programs review, GFSI readiness assessments.
- Direct client in the interpretation of laboratory data and provide consulting services if needed.
- Develop and maintain expertise in food science and related technologies.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Serve as a personnel source for quality and food safety management temporary assignments at client companies.
- Provide secondary support to other Merieux NutriSciences personnel when applicable, as needed.
- Position requires individual analysis of each problem to determine the optimal solution with guidance from senior consultants. The incumbent uses previous experience, federal (FDA, USDA), publications and regulations, as resources to provide necessary information to solve a problem.Client problems are often unique and require the incumbent to select among several different alternatives, and using the senior consultants as guides, to meet or exceed their requirements and address their concerns.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to Merieux NutriSciences clients and assisting in resolution of basic technical problems and issues relating to food safety management including environmental sampling, basic HACCP issues, GFSI compliance, and sanitation problems.
YOUR PROFILE
This position requires an understanding of food microbiology and/or food chemistry obtained from a bachelors (or masters) in food microbiology, microbiology, chemistry, food science, agriculture or from an M.S. degree. Equivalent experience is necessary to provide technical guidance and expertise to client companies and Merieux NutriSciences personnel. Two to five years industry experience in the food industry with direct quality and food safety involvement is desirable. Note, a BS degree in a field other than those mentioned above will be considered with relevant work experience. A basic knowledge of food science is necessary to apply knowledge while consulting with client and to provide them with practical solutions to their problems. Knowledge of food safety and quality, including HACCP, Sanitation (SSOP’s), Allergens, GMP’s, SOP’s, Environmental Monitoring Programs, SPC, etc. to provide knowledgeable solutions to the clients of Merieux NutriSciences is desirable. HACCP & PCQI Certification preferred.
Required skills: Strong analytical skills are needed to solve problems with client issues. Strong interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain relationships across company functions. Well-developed oral and written communication skills are essential for effective client and Merieux NutriSciences personnel interactions. Client relation skills are needed to provide consulting services to the client. Planning skills are essential to plan, implement, and maintain system changes for clients. A basic knowledge of operating personal computers is necessary to produce clients’ reports.
Management (Size and characteristics of the team(s)): No direct reports.
The pay range for this position is $65,000-$75,000.
