Freelance Production Associate Jobs

We are looking for a Freelance Production Associate for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This Mid-Senior level position operates remotely.
Responsibilities:

• Work with Accounts Payable team to onboard any new vendors to ensure payment can be issued.
• Resolve timing disconnects with the manufacturing base and New York teams.
• Favorably negotiate all post-placement costing to hit margin goals.
• Oversee and manage the full production cycle- from development to delivery.
• With product development, and with design input, plan annual factory allocation to insure adequate capacity.
• Approve and code all development / bulk sample invoices and bulk debit notes in opentext.
• Ensure that final product meets intended aesthetics, function and quality goals as outlined in the design package.
• Work with merchandising to negotiate terms / deliveries and buy quantities for special pop-up domestic or international capsules.
• Maintain gross profit goals by working with sourcing partners to plan and control item costs, and expedite finished goods with logistics and DC partners.
• Issue all purchase orders, factory splits with accuracy.
• Track / follow up with Accounts payable on any pending payment issues to factories or vendors.
• Manage a weekly shipping status report sent to merchandising and account executives.
• Proactively manage internal process links with Design, Merchandising, and Sales.
• Review and communicate style and material minimums, material costs, and lead times with design, production, and merchandising. Negotiate advantageous terms for these items.
• As needed, work closely with design and product development to resolve delivery and material issues affecting production.
• Place all AD sample and personal request orders with factories.
• Place trim orders to suppliers for CMT vendors.
• Manage all production variances with merchandising and design as well as all rework needs.
• Approve short shipment and overcut quantities on bulk orders.
• Manage calendar to achieve on time placement dates to achieve to fulfillment and financial plans.
• Meet calendar deadlines to ensure that products are delivered on time.
• Track receipt of goods with logistics and warehouse to ensure product is received in a timely manner.
• Approve delivery extensions and move ups for bulk orders.
• Communicate clearly and effectively through email both internally and externally.
• Insure that all systems are maintained for costing and deliveries, insuring data integrity at all times.
• Manage new factory onboarding process with QA team.
• Alert merchandising and buying teams to short shipments and delivery delays.
• Request and review / advise comments on factory WIPs based on delivery quotes and retail drop month needs.
• Ensure QA and QC is done in a timely manner (material and product level).

Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, PLM.
• Experience managing vendor relationships.
• Experience working with an off-shore office a plus.
• Confidence in communicating internally and externally.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Minimum 5-7 years production experience.
• Experience managing internal and external Time and Action calendars.
