Wanted: Comic Artist (freelance) to create fun, weekly comics for online publication

AdExchanger is an online trade publisher that covers advertising, ad tech and data-driven marketing – but we know how to have fun with it.

For more than a decade, we’ve published a weekly comic highlighting an amusing aspect of our industry, often inspired by events in the news cycle. These weekly comics have become a signature part of the AdExchanger brand.

We’re looking for a new artist to bring our wacky ideas to life on a weekly basis. And we’re open to a new style. We’d love to see yours!

Responsibilities:

• This is a fully remote freelance job. Compensation is $500 per completed comic. The job will begin in late April and be ongoing.
• We will share a descriptive idea/concept for the comic early in the week over email, usually by mid-afternoon on Tuesdays.
• The AdExchanger team will review. The artist will need to be available to make potential edits and tweaks (typically minor!) based on feedback from AdExchanger’s editorial team.
• AdExchanger comics publish weekly on adexchanger.com every Friday morning.
• Our hope is to begin a long-term relationship with a comic artist and for us to embrace their style. There will also be the opportunity for other projects, including creating fun, cool original version of “stock” images. (for example) (for example)
• In addition to publishing on our website every Friday, the comics are also often reused to illustrate stories on our website. (for example) (for example)
