Freelance, 3D Visual Merchandising Designer- Global Luxury Beauty Brand

Title: VM Designer (Freelance)

Reports to: Global Executive Director, Visual Merchandising

Location: 3x a week in office required in - NY

Dates: ASAP – Ongoing (possibility to extend based on performance/overall business needs)

Working Hours: [9am-6pm Mon-Fri with one hour for lunch]

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Global VM Designer is to work closely with the internal teams (Creative Services, Creative, Store Design, etc.) and Global VM Director to ensure Brands visual merchandising presentations are consistent and representative of the brand’s global standards across all channels. He/She/They will concept, coordinate and demonstrate the ability to roll out global strategy in the assigned perimeter and take initiatives in implementing changes in a timely manner. This position is responsible for graphic design, form development and execution of tester and merchandising units related to permanent and seasonal programs for the brand and for issuing merchandising and visual guidelines globally.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Based on creative requests/briefs, develop designs that are clear, visually impactful, easy to navigate and consistent with overall channel strategies.
• Work with key partners (ID, SD) to ensure designs achieve the best results for each product display.
• Develop graphics, package and create digital visual guidelines for launch and/or evergreen programs
• Based on competitive landscape, develop top shelf displays to stand out from the competition and highlight new product launches or in line assortments.
• Maintain a well-organized database of graphics (on shared server) for each retailer and open sell fixture globally.
• Produce 3D renderings and 2D graphics to answer global and/or regional needs: permanent displayers, launch content and digital guidelines, in-store artwork and graphics.
• Support director with creative design and execution of all visual needs (graphics, perm displayers, presentations, guidelines, etc.)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high pressure, creative environment.
• Knowledge of retail trends, and SMC environments
• Experience with visual merchandising design, including tester displays and gondola designs
• Beauty experience is a major plus!
• Can take direction, work independently and collaboratively
• Must be a self-starter, flexible and imaginative with an understanding of 3D design
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Rhino, Keyshot, Sketchup
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task with agility
• 1-3 years experience in merchandising, visual display, styling, events or related areas - preferably luxury beauty brands
