Description
The job holder will evaluate and identify trends in sales by analyzing industry data, from both within the company and outside. This involves collecting and examining data and using the information gathered to create coherent, intelligent reports, then presenting these reports to the National Sales Manager and Morton Customers. The job holder will promote and elevate Customer Satisfaction and help create long-term, sustainable Customer relationships. The job holder will help manage and guide the Broker Sales Team in order to increase company revenues. Their role includes engaging with major client accounts, helping set sales targets, implements sales strategies, and reports to the National Sales Manager. The jobholder will provide analytical and back office support to the Morton Foodservice Sales Channel to achieve annual plan targets and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes Premier Customer data, (i.e. US Foods CookBook Platform), to optimize sales efforts and better identify potential product gaps and line extensions
- Provides business analysis and content, transforms data information into insights, (such as NPD Crest, Menu Mintel, Technomics, Datassentials, Firefly etc.), and help identify new sales opportunities
- Proactively provides Daily sales and budget tracking
- Reviews past sales data to determine trends and profitability
- Provides back office support, (TPM, C4C, Technical documents, Distributor Portals, and Chain Portals
- Evaluates third-party data to determine best practices for company success
- Works with internal cross-functional teams such as Brand Marketing, Pricing, R&D, Culinary, Supply Chain and Finance to optimize opportunities, profitability and long-term, sustainable sales
- Compiles and analyze data over time to forecast sales trends
- Maintains supplies of sales presentation materials, including slides and point of sale materials
- Prepares accurate reports using data from internal and external sources
- Presents actionable information and insights to team members and management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with Morton cross-functional teams, Foodservice Customers, and Morton Senior Management
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
- The jobholder must possess the ability to stay organized under stressful situations
- Excellent leadership and coaching abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong organization, training, presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of trends and regulations in their specific industry
- Good attitude toward teamwork as well as the ability to work independently
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business is desired but not required
- Advanced problem-solving and analysis skills
- Ability to analyze consumer data to optimize sales efforts
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize
- Jobholder must be well organized, able to work under time constraints, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines as set by the National Sales Manager
- Excellent time management
- Proactive, enthusiastic approach to job responsibilities
- Previous experience as a Sales Analyst, Sales Support, Customer Service or all-around, (Sales Generalist)
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills required
- High level of organization and detail-orientation
