Job Description
To execute and maintain a program designed to perform selected chemical and physical tests, and from the results, verify and document specification compliance for food products distributed to each restaurant of Inspire Brands.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inventory and order supplies for the QA Laboratory/Innovation Center
  • Notify applicable QA Category Manager when results are unacceptable
  • Coordinate monthly sampling, preparation, delivery, and receipt of product (must be capable of lifting boxes up to 50 lbs. in weight). Communicate standards to designated distributors which will ensure that samples are obtained at proper frequencies and in proper condition
  • Perform statistical analyses on product testing results
  • Prepare monthly reports of the results of analytical and evaluative work
  • Perform selected chemical and physical evaluations of food products at established frequencies, or as required
  • Conduct formal product evaluation cuttings with key team members within the organization

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Coursework in Statistics
  • B.S degree in Food Science or Chemistry, with coursework in Microbiology
  • 3-10 years experience
  • Preferred: 5 years of directly related work experience
  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Requires team interaction skills
  • Must have project management skills, handling complexity and maintaining flexibility to departmental demands
  • Requires the ability to perform a variety of laboratory procedures of chemical and physical analyses
  • Requires knowledge of PC with word-processing, graphics, database, spreadsheet applications and Internet in a Windows environment
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of statistics, and the ability to interpret and report the results
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some travel required
