MAC Finance Coordinator
:
As a Finance Coordinator at the Mexican American Council, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing budgets, providing financial analysis, supporting grant applications, and presenting the annual financial report to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
Financial Data Management:
- Enter financial transactions into the accounting system and ensure proper classification.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income, expenses, invoices, and payments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the CEO.
- Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide analysis to support decision-making processes.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the CEO and management team.
- Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Grants and Fund Management:
- Provide financial expertise and guidance during the grant application process to maximize funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with program managers and project coordinators to develop comprehensive budget proposals for grant applications.
- Support the management of grants and funding, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with grantor guidelines.
Annual Financial Report:
- Answer any questions or provide additional information as requested by the Board of Directors.
- Present the annual financial report to the Board of Directors at annual board meeting.
- Create the annual financial report, summarizing the organization's financial performance, achievements, and challenges.
Internal Controls and Auditing:
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure adherence to financial policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within a non-profit organization.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Salary:
Full-time Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 / annual
