What you will do:

The Field Meter Technician objective is to provide utility meter service inspectors whose primary responsibilities will include utility meter inspection and testing of electronics in mechanical meters for residential and commercial uses. They will also conduct field installation of current and/or potential transformer meter installations. Will conduct field testing of meters and burden testing of current transformers. A high level of public interaction is required with this role as well as working in an outdoor environment.

Required Skills:

• Must have computer skills including the ability to operate a PC, mobile handheld applications, email, and navigation systems
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Individual must be willing and able to travel and stay overnight four to five weeks of their work schedule
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have firm understanding of mechanical and electrical principles
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Must maintain a professional manner and have strong communication skills to communicate effectively with the public, utility and internal teams

Work Requirements:

• On the job training and supervision will be provided prior to working alone
• Electrical or utility line of work/experience is preferred but not required

Work Status and Shift:

• Full Time
• Mon-Fri 1st shift hours

Starting rate of pay is $18 per hour through $24 per hour depending on experience
