Field Engineer - Construction

The Field Engineer must possess and exercise commitment, initiative, integrity and teamwork in the execution of their duties. While working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Project Engineer acts as liaison between the owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors and the project team. This position will have good communication skills to process Engineering work including RFI’s, submittals, shop drawings, claims and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project close out documents including monitoring of punch list to completion, preparation of warranties and operations manuals.
• Review and Process the project documentation work including submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor claims, purchase orders and other procedures, specific to project documentation, as required and Inputs them into the project management system.
• Quality control and field engineering.
• Be proficient in basic estimating skills including quantity take offs, spreadsheet analysis, unit pricing that can be utilized in the review of change order pricing.
• Assists Project Management Team with tracking project expenditures and cost accounting, including accuracy, approvals, and payment reporting.
• Assist in preparing documents for project meetings, safety meetings and coordination meetings. Prepare meeting minutes and distribute using the Project Management System.
• Sends out RFQ’s, maintains log of responses and sends out plans and specifications to subcontractors and vendors.
• Performs other miscellaneous administrative duties, as required by the Project Management team.
• Maintain effective and positive business relationships with customers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Organizes, track and maintain project related files, drawings, materials, and correspondence.
• Assists the Project Management team by setting up project binders and printing drawings and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of subcontracts including development of scopes of work and schedules.

Qualifications

• Spanish is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera is a plus.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft office is a must. Auto Cad or Revit is a plus.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Structural or Civil Engineering or related field and 5 years of position-related experience.
