Construction Inspector

Kennedy Jenks is seeking Construction Inspectors to work on major water related infrastructure projects. Travel will be required for this position. We are seeking Construction Inspectors with strong skills, an outstanding work ethic, and high-level of integrity to provide construction oversight on water and wastewater infrastructure public works projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide QC of contractor’s work
  • Provide daily oversight of contractor and its construction activities, including written daily reports
  • Coordinate meetings with contractors, clients, and staff
  • Track contractor schedule compliance
  • Prepare written communication between owner and contractor
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience with sewer rehabilitation, municipal projects, water and wastewater pipelines, agriculture pump stations, and/or water or wastewater treatment plants, for both new construction and rehabilitation, is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with all facets of construction including civil, mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Certifications for specialty inspections of steel, concrete, welding, coatings, and other aspects of infrastructure projects is a plus.

Base pay rate for this position is anticipated to be $50 per hour, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, skills, licensure/certifications, seniority, geographic location, and performance. Many of KJ’s California public works projects are prevailing wage projects; therefore, KJ matches the prevailing wage requirements; many times, prevailing wage is higher than base pay rate.
