Position Overview

As a Family Services Administrator, you will be a part of a diverse team where your commitment to culturally competent and evidence-based practices will ensure the needs of the individuals within the Reunification and Moms & Babies Programs are identified, and that corresponding gender responsive, trauma informed programming is afforded to these individuals in custody. This unique role will provide you with the opportunity to have a powerful impact in the lives of the individuals you will be serving. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Job Responsibilities

1. Serves as the Family Services Administrator.

2. Serves as full-line supervisor.

3. Coordinates program activities which include determination of program priorities.

4. Monitors case management services to women and children to include assessments, goal setting, and monitoring progress.

5. Plans and directs program budget.

6. Conducts program planning by developing and updating curriculum and manuals for the Moms and Babies and Reunification Programs.

7. Serves as program Liaison.

8. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.


Minimum Qualifications

1. Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with courses in management and organizational leadership.

2. Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience working in programs with an emphasis in women and family dynamics.

3. Of the three (3) years of experience requires three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

1. At least two (2) years of experience working within a program setting with an emphasis in women and family dynamics.

2. At least two (2) years of work experience developing and updating curriculum in a program area.

3. At least two (2) years of experience working in case management.

4. at least two (2) years of work experience analyzing administrative programs and adopting an effective course of action.

5. At least two (2) years of experience maintaining a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program along with recommending and implementing improvements.

6. At least two (2) years of work experience in organizational management.

7. At least two (2) years of working experience implementing program policies and procedures.

8. At least one year (1) of experience working within a correctional setting.

9. At least two (2) years of working experience working with a program budget.

Conditions of Employment

1. Ability to be on call on a 24-hour basis.

2. Ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.

3. Ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changes, the Department will continue to enforce the Department's zero tolerance Drug Testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
