The Role:

This new role, Facilities & Operations Manager, will provide operational support to our Somerville and Andover, MA locations. This is a hands-on role managing our soft services vendors and contractors which currently includes Janitorial, Food Services, Mail, Space Planning and Pest Control. This role requires implementing processes to ensure effective and efficient operations of these services are maintained at high levels and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position reports to the Executive Director, Real Estate and Facilities.

Here's how you will contribute:

• Prepare technical analysis, metrics and surveys related to office/ Lab space requirements
• Manage and maintain workplace technology systems for Space Planning analysis
• Evaluate space utilization and changing demands for space needs and offer creative alternatives to given scenarios
• Work closely with the Property Management team on employee parking options including tracking the number of available spots and providing parking tags
• Manage furniture inventory and perform routine audits of space to ensure consistency
• Advance the methods, procedures, and systems to increase overall effectiveness of space utilization and management
• Manage workplace services projects, including Office/Lab design, construction, and relocation initiatives
• Partner with senior leadership to develop and manage employee services programs that support employee well-being and engagement, including on-site amenities and wellness initiatives
• Oversee the maintenance and management of the physical workplace, including office furniture, conference rooms and interior design
• Manage relationships with soft service providers such as Janitorial and Food Service vendors to ensure that services are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Develop and implement office / lab space planning strategies that support business needs and objectives
• Develop and manage the budget for workplace services, ensuring that costs are controlled, and resources are allocated appropriately

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience partnering with and managing third party vendors
• Proficient in technology and equipment used for Space Planning
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• BA/BS degree
• Experience in Biotech/Pharma with 5+ years of in facilities or operations management experience
• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records
