Summary
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for all duties of the housekeeping operation and cleanliness of the entire property. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): leading a team of room attendants, laundry personnel, house persons and working closely with the maintenance team to exceed hotel, brand and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Management of the Lost and Found program.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the housekeeping and laundry departments and surrounding areas. This includes, guest rooms, public spaces, lobby, stairwells, guest laundry, fitness room, business center, outside grounds and all storage rooms.
- Ensure effective departmental communication through logs, daily standup meetings and monthly departmental meetings.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to and followed.
- Maintain the budget by ensuring labor, productivity, cleaning, laundry and guest room supplies do not exceed budgeted amounts.
- Develop, train and motivate all housekeeping associates ongoing. Provide continual direction.
- Inspect guest rooms, halls, common areas and exterior grounds to determine standard cleanliness has been met.
- Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
- Assign associates their work assignments and inspect work ensuring a consistent standard of cleanliness and accuracy has been achieved.
- Investigate concerns regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and take corrective action.
- Secure and maintain hotel equipment, keys and supplies at all times in order to protect and preserve hotel property.
- Accurately check all fixtures, equipment and room conditions (television, lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings and maintenance. Report any deficiencies.
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Directly supervise associates in the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
