Description of Job Function
1. Leads the design, implementation, and assessment of campus academic and operational initiatives, in alignment with the college’s strategic goals and in partnership with the Campus Provost.

Serves as a learning partner for faculty, including the development of feedback processes that result in the ongoing refinement of instructional practices based on student learning, success, and experience data; leveraging faculty and deans’ discipline-specific expertise where appropriate. Works closely with the Teaching and Learning Academy to ensure effective implementation of the pre-tenure process.

3. Collaborates with the Campus Provost office, Academic Operations, OIT, Facilities and Maintenance Operations, Campus Safety and Security, vendors, and other groups to ensure safe and efficient campus operations.

4. Partners with campus and college faculty and staff, and maintains a consistent campus presence, to cultivate an environment in which students and all members of the community know/feel that they belong and can thrive.

5. Provides campus and collegewide leadership, particularly in efforts to advance and monitor progress toward the college’s strategic goals.

6. Develops expertise about and connections with the campus’ local communities. Aligns campus initiatives and programs to the community’s unique and evolving needs. Represents the campus and the college with local state agencies, K-12 and postsecondary institutions, and local employers. Develops strong partnerships with community stakeholders— and between the campus’ faculty and staff and the local community—in support of college goals.

7. Partners with discipline deans, Academic Operations, and Campus Provosts in strategic academic enrollment management to develop, refine, and evaluate course schedules in service of student access, learning, and success.

8. Provides leadership and oversight to hire, retain and support high quality full and part-time faculty and staff, and providing timely performance evaluations.

9. Supports effective student support services and activities at the campus, in partnership with Student Affairs leadership and staff, and addresses student concerns.

10. Connects the campus to the college, facilitating two-way communication, advocating for campus-specific needs, and assuring the campus community feels inclusive.

11. Oversees the management of assigned budget.

12. Facilitates conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation of student, staff and faculty concerns that are beyond the scope of Student Affairs, such as concerns involving academic matters, faculty, or instruction, referring unresolved student concerns to the appropriate institutional area.

Required Minimum Education
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.

Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience leading others; building successful partnerships with other college departments, business and industry; and designing innovative educational pathways.

Working Conditions

General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
