POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Evaluations Representative works within the Registrar’s Office and is responsible for assessing and articulating official and unofficial third-party institutional records, ensuring their most efficient use toward the completion of degree requirements. The role is responsible for the articulation of courses, maintaining course transfer rules, validating student transfer credits, and researching accreditation and calendar systems as needed (quarters, semesters, etc.) to streamline and standardize the transfer course process for students.

The Evaluations Representative will be knowledgeable on the functional and broader technical aspects of the transcript evaluation processes, transfer course articulation, various transfer articulation and accreditation data sites, course catalogs, course components, and have a broad understanding of general education coursework and the requirements needed to map course-to-course equivalencies.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately create the transfer credit evaluation and transfer articulation information in the University’s student information system (Anthology Student) and auxiliary systems.
  • Serve as a resource for students and university personnel.
  • Assist in the interpretation and enforcement of university credit transfer, residency, and other policies and procedures in the construction, amendment, or changing of degree plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Recommend and award transfer credit to student degree programs based on a solid understanding of regulations and guidelines set forth by accrediting and other educational agencies.
  • Understand Key Performance Indicators of student evaluations and meet or exceed defined metrics.
  • Assist in the development of student degree plans by examination of student transcripts in electronic format (official and unofficial documents).
  • Meet quantitative and qualitative standards to ensure productivity and academic integrity.

  • Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), required
  • Able to work in a positive team-oriented manner with a variety of people (students, faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, and members of the general public)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, required
  • Language Skills: Able to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos; able to communicate in writing to university employees, and all other stakeholders with tact and courtesy
  • 2+ years of previous work experience in transfer articulation, or serving on a transcript evaluation team within a Registrar & Records Office, preferred
  • This position may involve sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training in a university or customer service setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
