Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a Trader for the Equity Trading and Transition Team where you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of NBIM’s trading activity in the Americas region.

Your primary focus will be on the US equity markets while also engaging in trading activities within the broader region. Your responsibility will be to effectively execute investment decisions for our internally managed mandates, collaborating closely with portfolio managers, transition managers and our technology department.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient implementation of orders in the equity markets while prioritizing cost-efficiency, including actively managing risk, optimizing implementation costs and sourcing liquidity.

You will liaise between external counterparties, our internal ECM team and Portfolio Managers, coordinating demand in primary and secondary equity offerings. Your expertise will contribute to the development and enhancement of various trading-related investment strategies. You will receive comprehensive training and gain in-depth knowledge of our trading operation and its various facets across our global offices. The position is in New York and some travel will be required

Duties And Responsibilities

What you will do

• Continuously analyze evolving equity markets, adapt trading strategies to trends, embrace technological advancements, and navigate regulatory changes.
• Actively contribute to projects aimed at enhancing trading and investment performance.
• Collaborate with Portfolio and Transition Managers to develop execution plans tailored to our diverse investment strategies.
• Foster strong relationships with counterparties, facilitating seamless information exchange across trade execution, primary and secondary share offerings, and market insights.
• Execute trades and manage risks in the US equity markets, as well as other markets spanning the Americas region.

What You Need

• Practical proficiency utilizing both low and high touch strategies.
• 1-3 years of experience from an equity buy or sell side trading desk.
• University degree in finance, economics or other quantitative field with strong academic records is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of collaboration and coordination between stakeholders in ECM blocks and deals is considered a plus.

Compensation - Expected Base Salary rates for the role will be between $160,000 - $240,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base Salary, if hired, will be determined on an individualized basis.

Flexible Working - We operate a hybrid model that allows our colleagues to work from home for up to two days a week from New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
