Exotic Equity Derivative Structured Products Trader - Avp / Vp

Summary:

Assist in the market making and risk hedging trading strategy for the Trading Exotic Structured EQ unit, contributing to maximize the franchise in the product distribution to clients/ investors and portfolio results within the established risk limit. Encourage the development of tailor-made structured solutions, and their required risk valuation models, adapted to clients’ needs. Be responsible for the pricing and risk hedging activity of the trading desk under his/ her responsibility, with focus on promoting the excellence in the service offered to both internal/ external clients.

• Generate recurrent income, complying with the hit/ miss target set for the trading desk under his/ her responsibility. Monitor the Trading Exotic Structured EQ unit desk results
• Coordinate the update of the unit´s product parameters in the databases to be used by all Global Market traders in pricing. Collaborate with other Equity Trading desks in updating the product trading handbook, framework and pricing rules documentation
• Monitor the market continuously, ensuring that the trading parameters of the valuation models that manage the unit traders are aligned to market conditions and correlation levels - Supervise the desk daily closing processes, tracking the desk activity and main trading indicators (position risk curve, hit/ miss, leverage, etc.). Assist traders in explaining the P&L deviation (if any) and with trade reconciliation and/ or discrepancies
• Ensure that the desk activity comply with both internal and external operational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with Policies & Procedures CIB for the operating procedures update and support Internal Control CIB in monitoring the compliance with the established trading framework
• Quote complex transactions in terms of risk, managing the proper approvals for operations that exceed given risk limits. Promote the excellence in the service offered to the clients -
• Coordinate and monitor the approval and definition of contracts for new underlying/ products with Risks and Legal units respectively. Assist Quants in requesting the risk approval to new valuation models
• Supervise the Trading Exotic Structured desk book’s aggregate hedging, driving the hedging strategy to ensure that the desk global risk exposure is balanced and maintaining the risks within the acceptable/ allowed limits
• Encourage the coordination with the Structuring teams to develop and structure EQ derivatives products tailored to clients’ needs
• Support unit traders in servicing client’s requests submitted by the Sales team, collaborating closely in offering tailor-made exotics derivatives adapted to clients’ needs.
• Assist the desk coordination, delegating tasks amongst his/ her team based on their product specialization, seniority and workload. Follow up and supervision of all on-going trading activity
• Drive the development of new valuation models together with Quants, focusing on calibrating and understanding the model performance
• Liaise alongside with other Trading desks in order to mainstream the product market knowledge and generate trading synergies in the operations’ profitability and risk
• Collaborate with the Trading Manager (Country/Region) in defining the desk strategy, focusing on meeting internal and external customers’ needs and complying with the risk and regulatory requirements
• Introduce the Trading Exotic Structured trading activity (procedures, systems, market position, etc.) to both internal and external clients - Participate in the strategic and pipeline committees of the Global Product units

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $130000 -$180000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
