Equities Analyst, Emerging Markets – Financials

Principal's Global Emerging Markets Equity team is searching for an experienced financials sector analyst. This candidate will work with a diverse team of portfolio managers and analysts supporting research and recommendations!

We’re looking for an Analyst to join our Emerging Markets Equity team. Principal Equities, part of Principal Asset Management, manages over $100 Billion in assets and is looking for a US-based fundamental Research Analyst. As a member of the research team, this analyst will make investment recommendations and provide essential insights into industry and regional trends while applying the firm's investment philosophy and process. Consistent across all strategies, our approach is to evaluate and select stocks from a broad investment universe and construct portfolios in alignment with specific objectives and risk management parameters supported by our proprietary quantitative tools. We seek companies demonstrating positive fundamental change, with exploitable expectation gaps and pricing anomalies. Our conviction is centered on bottom-up fundamental insights while remaining macro-aware.

In this role, you’ll be able to:

• Partner closely with other analysts and portfolio managers to provide outperformance through stock selection, while working within the framework of our process and portfolio constraints
• Provide and continue to build expertise for assigned regions/in the financials sector

Who You Are

• Emerging Markets or International equity experience
• 2+ years (five preferred) investment experience or relevant work experience
• MBA with finance emphasis and/or Chartered Financial Analyst designation
• Knowledge of sophisticated investment vehicles, thorough understanding of firm's investment strategy and philosophy, business acumen, analytical, superior judgment, and total rate of return mentality

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$137000 - $185000 / year

We’re open to considering in-office or hybrid talent. Locations for talent are New York City, Des Moines, or Chicago.

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
