Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for managing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programs and initiatives including those related to decarbonization, community impact and stakeholder engagement. Support the development and oversight of progress across initiatives. Manage relationships with internal partners as it related to ESG programs and initiatives.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the Climate Risk Group in identifying, assessing and managing climate risks, both transition and physical, as well as the supplemental annual reporting.
  • Support the ESG senior management in evolving the ESG strategy, planning and communications as appropriate.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
  • Drive topic-specific impact assessments with internal and external partners.
  • Act as subject matter expert on climate issues and standards including those related to greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Oversee the progress of company-wide ESG goals, targets and KPIs.
  • Partner with relevant internal teams (technical and marine operations, port development, supply chain, marketing etc.) to identify, develop and implement ESG-focused strategies including those for team members and guests.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance strategic projects and innovation in relation to climate-related and social impact goals.
  • Manage ESG programs and initiatives including those related to climate action, community impact and human rights.
  • Contribute to internal and external communications, engagement and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting, including the annual ESG report, executive leadership updates, team member engagement and external announcements.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sustainability or ESG-related field. Master's preferred.


EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of experience supporting corporate ESG strategies, goals and related programs. Experience with GHG accounting and climate-related program management is a must. Maritime industry experience is preferred but not required.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build strong working relationships is a must. Demonstrated expertise on climate issues, corporate climate action, and climate-related standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, target setting methodologies, emissions reduction strategies). Highly organized with excellent project & time management skills to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables and deadlines. High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks with ability to manage workload with shifting priorities. Outstanding analysis skills, oral and written communication and presentation skills, and the ability to collaborate with the executive team. Must be willing to travel to meet with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrable problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking. History of effective multi-tasking, expectation setting and escalation of issues where appropriate. Exceptional project management skills with strong attention to detail. Someone who pays high attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment that is focused on actionable solutions and outcomes and have a "roll up your sleeves" orientation to manage and execute ideas.
