DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Environmental Protection Compliance Specialist for the Southwestern Region is generally responsible for expediting the compliance and enforcement activities within Beaver, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland Counties for all matters within the purview of the Pennsylvania Air Pollution Control Act.

• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. Telework is on a rotating schedule.

• Travel is required for site visits.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

• Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
• One year of professional experience as a Sanitarian, Air Quality Specialist, Solid Waste Specialist, or Water Quality Specialist; or

Necessary Special Requirements:

• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
