About Houston

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. It was designed to foster improved collaboration, creativity and innovation and enhance the company’s ability to attract, develop and retain the top talent in the industry.

The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately to the west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45), at the intersection of I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from the cultural vibrancy of downtown Houston.

The campus was constructed to the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. Its design incorporates extensive research into best practices in building and workplace design through extensive benchmarking of the world’s top academic, research, and corporate facilities.

What role you will play in our team

The Public Awareness Compliance Advisor will assist with compliance activities at ExxonMobil Pipeline Company(EMPCo) with DOT RP1162. RP1162 is a regulatory program designed to reduce pipeline accidents – which are often attributable to digging by homeowners, contractors, and farmers – and enhance public safety and environmental protection through increased public awareness and knowledge of pipeline operations.

The position plays a critical role at EMPCo to raise awareness of our pipelines through a detailed communication program with the affected public, emergency responders, excavators, and public officials. RP1162 addresses various elements of such programs, including the intended audiences, the kinds of information to be communicated, frequencies and methodologies for communicating the information, and evaluation of the programs for effectiveness.

  • Assist field public awareness coordinators with implementation, measurement and documentation

Activities include:

  • Assist in overall administration of internal regulations for Midstream, including Champion of Improvement coordination
  • Coordinate the Good Neighbor Grant Program
  • Offer RP1162 compliance program training, as needed (i.e. yearly workshop, conference calls, etc.), and assess need for supplemental program enhancements
  • Implement all aspects of the annual direct mail campaign
  • Conduct required effectiveness surveys and annual program review
  • Develop templates to ensure consistency in external stakeholder presentations, letters, and other opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain overall EMPCo RP 1162 compliance program, including current public awareness plan
  • Document compliance to public awareness requirements: develop and distribute the annual brochure; use census data to evaluate translation of brochures to non-English languages; implement annual direct mail campaign
  • Review and provide guidance on public awareness forms, evaluation methods, measurement processes and documentation policies
