Engineering Project Manager - Sliders

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the technical leadership of Slider suspension products for the Trailer division. Provide technical support of slider suspension products and components to ensure they exceed the expectations of our production facilities and customers. Management of direct reports consisting of professional-level engineers/designers.
Essential Functions:
• Collaborates with Engineering Manager and Program Manager to create and maintain priorities, schedules, and metrics
• Develops the technical competence and capabilities of direct reports and product engineers assigned to suspension product tasks
• Works with customers and production facilities to ensure existing products exceed expectations
• Responds to technical customer inquiries relative to product specifications, performance, and application
• Manages the creation and release of design changes relative to existing products
• Ensures drawings and specifications relative to new products meet the fit, form, and function targets of the design requirements
• Develop and maintain appropriate design FMEA’s
• Specify and approve PPAP requirements
• Reviews and approves product deviations
• Assist in the creation and continuous improvement of best practices for suspension products
• Works closely with test engineering to ensure that changes are appropriately specified and validated.
• Work closely with internal manufacturing, purchasing, and outside suppliers, to obtain the best overall solutions to design problems.
