Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Platform Team at Bodo.ai. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our high-performance Python data analytics platform. You will lead a team of talented engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of robust and efficient solutions that revolutionize data processing for our clients. As the team leader and Engineer, you will be building a cloud platform that hosts the fastest, most scalable and accessible analytics platform for data scientists and data engineers, with a significant impact in large-scale enterprise cluster and cloud compute environments.

Responsibilities

• Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack
• Help hire and build cloud Infrastructure team
• Architect systems and abstractions using the right available components and tools
• Lead various efforts in platform development and work with other Engineering leaders in product roadmap
• Build and extend core components of Bodo Cloud Platform's infrastructure
• Lead team to design features that are coherent, consistent, and feel familiar to data scientists and data engineers
• Design and implement features that scale to thousands of concurrent users and user clusters, and thousands of cores per cluster
• Enhance simplicity, robustness, efficiency and scalability of the Bodo Cloud Platform

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience leading cloud infrastructure development
• Ideally have start-up experience, ideally with a company smaller than 20 employees in the SAAS industry
• Experience in writing production code (Java, C++, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to implement important decisions. Can synthesize coherent plans and priorities from the inputs of the team and business partners.
• Highly skilled in people management/development, strong communication skills, and impeccable attention to detail
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, software architecture, and design patterns
• Experience working with cloud technologies: Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, Terraform, microservices, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
• BS or higher degree in Computer Science
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with performance optimization techniques and algorithms for data processing
• Experience managing and growing a engineering team
• Experience architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems at scale
