The candidate will develop, implement and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework in partnership with the broader EHS and Gigafactory Infrastructure teams. They will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

  • Perform audits and inspections, document results, and ensure actions to closure.
  • Monitor and administer EHS systems and tools used onsite in Fremont (e.g., incident reporting, performance dashboards, action trackers, etc.).
  • Analyze incident trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness and environmental impact events.
  • Partner with other EHS functions (Construction & Equipment Safety, EHS Systems and Tools, EHS Training, etc.) as needed to ensure effective service delivery to Fremont site.
  • Ensure the Gigafactory EHS Management System elements are applied effectively in coordination with EHS Management.
  • Develop new procedures, inspections, trainings, or reports as needed.
  • Facilitate incident investigations from a Learning Teams approach, ensuring that preventative actions address system causes and not just individual behaviors.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and verification of controls/safeguards before new, high risk, and non-standard work begins.
  • Deliver EHS Training and facilitate workshops to onsite teams.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience supporting EHS program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
  • Experience with hazard analysis methods, hazard communication, powered industrial vehicle safety, OSHA compliance, incident investigation and learnings, and corrective action management.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience as an environmental, health or safety professional, preferably in a manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar workplace.
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene, industrial ergonomics, machine safety, environmental compliance processes.
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, Power Point, Project, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or related field.
