Job Summary:

This position is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Belden guidelines and policies for environmental, health and safety risk management at Belden locations, to ensure all related matters and activities are compliant to corporate governance and local legal requirements. The focus of the position will start with safety management and environmental support in North America with opportunity for growth into global EHS management and sustainability initiatives. This position will directly report to the Senior Director # Corporate EHS and may work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate on ESG (Environment, Sustainability, and Governance) andother EHS strategic program activities where appropriate as development.
  • Act as the point of contact for Belden#s Property Insurer operations questions.
  • Implement applicable EHS policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with Belden Corporate policy and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Drive and promote safety culture and employee engagement throughout all US locations by development/conducting training, completing risk assessments and audits and recommending control measures for all potential areas of concern.
  • #Oversee Belden#s US workers# compensation program administration, including working with all parties to aggressively manage and support transitional dutyand return to work programs and claim management with Belden#s Third Party Administrator.
  • Ensure audits are completed on a regular basis (starting with North America Locations) to detect existing or potential risks and hazards. Ensure the recommended corrective or preventative measures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Utilize metrics for environment, health and safety and key performance indicator performances to perform management reviews and report on related performance, tactical and strategic improvement planning.


Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental health and safety management or equivalent experience in a technical environmentrequiring adherence to strong environmental health and safety practices
  • Good computer skills in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment within a complex reporting matrix.
  • Highly responsible, have a hands-on approach, with passion and attitude to 'get things done'.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Occupational Safety (or equivalent) desired
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, engage and influence others in a matrixed organization.
