You are responsible for

  • Develop and/or implement Contractor Safety Program and
  • Lead site self-audits and coordinate external HSS audits and partner with site management to close audit findings and implement audit recommendations
  • Develop and/or implement injury reduction strategies and apply ergonomic and safety principles to improve workstation efficiency and minimize injuries.
  • Additional activities to effectively manage the changing environment as related to HSS.
  • Implement for in-house and third party contractors.
  • Keep current on any changes regarding HSS laws and regulations that will impact the organization.
  • Work with Workers Compensation Analyst to drive cost mitigation strategies
  • Shall ensure that all site activities in the BOTHELL maintain compliance to all applicable local, state & federal OSHA regulations and Philips PCSS Documents.
  • Responsible for managing the development of environmental reduction strategies for energy, water, Hazardous, Non-Hazardous/Residual Wastes, recycling in collaboration with the SRC HSS Project Engineer.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of ISO 14001 & 45001
  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in HSS performance improvement initiatives
  • Analyze workers compensation claim costs data for BOTHELL in collaboration with WC Analyst
  • In collaboration with H&S Coordinator in peers, manage training requirements for onsite employees and contractors to comply with OSHA Standards as set forth in 29 CFR 1910.
  • Manage the national workers compensation program serving as liaison in claim management
  • Work with local management team and assist in developing and managing budget related to HSS activities.
  • Provide guidance to sites in identifying and tracking appropriate metrics and assessing site performance
  • Manage indoor work environment including noise quality, air quality and workplace exposure monitoring programs.
  • In collaboration with WC Analyst, manage OSHA log, complete annual occupational injury surveys,
  • Develop and implement training schedule for associates and contractors in BOTHELL.
  • Develop, review, and adjust safety and environmental training programs
  • Drive continuous improvement activities within the department
  • Will work with the HSS Project Engineer on all Environmental Regulations including but not limited to filing timely Environmental Reports (Biennial Reports, SPCC, Tier II, TRI, etc…), completing (where applicable) Environmental Permits and performing necessary Environmental Audits per Philips Sustainability Team.
  • Assist and/or lead incident investigations and participate in management review of all incidents
  • Develop, review, and revise site safety plans for BOTHELL Facility in collaboration with BG HSS and peers.
  • Research OSHA regulations and develop procedures as necessary to maintain compliance to respective regulatory requirements
  • Track, report, and analyze the HSS performance and implement corrective action as necessary
  • Manage the development of a consistent Emergency Response Plan for all sites located in the BOTHELL region.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Fluent in English
  • Great verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • 3+ years of experience in administering or executing EHS programs including but not limited to, hazardous waste management, hazardous materials management, radiation safety, ergonomics and emergency response.
