Job Description

Position Summary


The East Coast Director of Operations is in charge of overseeing all East Coast contracts on a daily basis. Responsible for directing the East Coast region's operations to provide quality services to the client by developing and implementing effective operational plans to meet the client's needs as well as achieving the company's business-related objectives, in accordance with our clients' policies and procedures. The East Coast Director of Operations oversees company management, sales development (including pricing), lead generation, and contract mobilization for the region. The position will directly report to the Chief Operating Officer.


Essential Duties

  • Maintains and promotes both internal and external customer service.
  • Examine legal contracts to ensure our client's best interests are protected.
  • Manage staff performance and coach/discipline as needed, particularly when initiatives are off-track, over-budget, and/or behind time, including holding individuals accountable, rectifying performance, and cultivating influential interpersonal relationships.
  • Improve present business operations management by emphasizing process improvement and efficiency.
  • Develop yearly income statement budgets and ensure that they are in line with expectations.
  • Oversee all staff members' project management, organizational, and time management skills in order to lead several projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Oversee East Coast human capital management, collaborating closely with the HR management team.
  • Create, disseminate, and maintain all relevant regional activity reports and documentation.
  • Ensure that all locations function within budget constraints, and collaborate closely with the VP of Operations to assess, report, and analyze the portfolio's financial performance.
  • Participate in industry events to promote the clients image and brand.
  • Manages the performance of H&S trainings for the East Coast with assistance from the H&S manager.
  • Oversee and direct new business mobilization while ensuring compliance with our client’s ISO policies, procedures, programs, and contractual agreements.
  • Ensure that current accounts are in accordance with our clients policies, procedures, programs, and contractual agreements.
  • Stimulate cross-functional collaboration to clarify complicated challenges, stimulate ideas, influence thinking, and reach decision-making consensus.
  • Develops and/or coaches the regional management team to ensure that their full potential is realized.
  • Handle union contract negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain a "safety first" work environment and culture.
  • Lead new sales prospects, including pricing, technical bid preparation, and oversight to ensure our client is at the forefront of the industry.
  • Meet with clients and build relationships in order to renew and expand contracts.
  • Develop and implement new or modified operational programs to improve overall quality and service to our clients/customers.


Education/Training Required:

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and preference for OSHA 30 certification.
  • Must have understanding of P&L statements.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of ten (10+) years management experience.
  • Minimum of prior five (5) years managing at least $20m of annual revenue.
