This is a training position based in one of our larger district markets. CORT Tradeshow & Events servces 16 districts across the country.
The DGM trainee will learn the overall operation of a district under the direction of an experienced district leader. You will learn how CORT Tradeshow & Events operates from the warehouse floor to show site operations to P&L. You will help to plan, direct, and lead the profitable growth of the district's operations. You will assist in managing and/or coordinating district operating and general administration functions. You will learn to manage all operations including market competitiveness and growth strategies. The DGM position is the most senior local manager in most district offices and must be able to work independently and effectively with little direct oversite from their supervisor on daily operations in their assigned district.

Responsibilities

• Manages labor, temporary labor, truck, transportation, and warehouse to meet budget commitments.
• Collaborates with the Regional Sales Managers, and operations to coordinate, plan and optimize the sales activities.
• Assures OSHA and DOT regulation compliance.
• Maintain and monitor safety activities to ensure compliance with company and state regulations, DOT requirements, and safety/health standards
• Develops, recommends and implements policies for the overall district including operating plans and budgets.
• Controls inventory to ensure the integrity of computerized inventory database on a daily basis.
• Build customer relationships to help achieve growth and drive decisions to ensure customer relationships are successful.
• Management experience (Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor, Team Building)
• Maintains a culture where everyone in the facility is knowledgeable of safe work practices and committed to following safe work practices.
• Understanding of P&L/Budgeting/Forecasting
• Represents the Company to local contractors, establishes relationships with contractor management and attend various tradeshows.

Qualifications

• DOT experience preferred - Regulations and Reporting standards
• Bilingual would be considered highly desirable in this position but is not required
• Bachelor’s Degree, Associate's Degree, or equivalent work experience
• Great communication skills with customers, employees, and other leaders
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to work with others and inspire
• Must have valid state driver’s license and safe driving record
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities - Warehouse and Distribution management, aligned with direct customer service oversight and management highly desired
