Responsibilities
The Strategy Director collaborates with high-level medical and administrative leaders, as well as business partners, to generate perceptive ideas that expedite strategic goals. They oversee and implement strategic initiatives, partnering with internal and external leaders to promote innovation, challenge norms, and establish solutions and programs that advance priorities. The Strategy Director works with the entire Strategy department to ensure a unified and consistent approach to customers, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes. They cultivate a culture of teamwork and transparency that fosters excellent service, quality, diversity of thought, curiosity, and an engaging work environment. As change agents, they introduce novel concepts, ideas, and work methods.
The Director's duties include enhancing financial management, possessing strong business writing, executive presence, and communication skills, and overseeing business and strategic planning, performance monitoring, and reporting. Furthermore, the director is responsible for supporting departmental, divisional, and institutional projects, managing staff recruitment, implementing policies, and managing expenses. As a consultant for internal strategy, they also contribute to staff development and training activities as needed.
- This position is a combination of remote and onsite support work. Individual must live within driving distance to the Mayo Clinic Rochester campus. May be required to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Seven (7) years of people leadership experience preferred.
- Five (5) years of healthcare experience with focus on strategy, client services, engineering, project management or operations.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working in an Academic Medical Center.
- Strong alignment with Mayo’s core values.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate priorities in line with the organization's strategy.
- Proficiency in preparing and presenting at executive-level meetings, as well as facilitating strategic decision-making forums with senior executives.
- A Master's Degree in business or healthcare, with a preference for concentrations in strategy, financial management, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
- Ability to balance teamwork with individual contributions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.
- A relationship-focused, high-performing individual with a strong balance of EQ and IQ.
- A resilient change agent that thrives in uncertain situations, able to work autonomously with minimal direction and under pressure.
- An ideal candidate should possess a growth mindset, generate novel ideas grounded in reliable strategic concepts.
- A proven track record of effectively working in a complex, consensus-driven environment that values teamwork.
- Strong strategic judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating strong executive presence.
- Previous experience in corporate strategy involving market assessments, making strategic choices based on growth projections, market position, and competition, as well as executing successful partnerships with external organizations to enhance performance. Also, experience applying business principles in supporting leaders of a large and complex medical center.

The minimum salary is $152,360.00 / year. Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
