Mexico Pacific is advancing the global energy transition by connecting growing markets to cleaner-burning fuels, furthering energy security, and leading the way towards a more sustainable future.
Led by a highly experienced team with expert knowledge of the LNG industry, Mexico Pacific was established in 2022 with an equity commitment from Quantum Energy Partners. The anchor project known as Saguaro Energía LNG is a 3 train, ~14.1 mtpa West Coast North American LNG export facility located in Puerto Libertad, Sonora, Mexico.
As the Company finalizes development phase and moves into the start of execution on Saguaro Energia LNG, we are seeking an experienced Director of Commercial Strategy to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role will report to the company's President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Finance group to ensure commercial mandates are set and opportunities pursued are aligned with and support corporate risk management requirements.
- Identify, analyze and provide recommendations where shifts in market fundamentals stand to impact corporate strategy to enable the business to respond in an agile and timely manner.
- Continuous economic evaluation of commercial group transactions from origination through to deal execution to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and commercial strategies.
- Leading corporate and market research.
- Developing, testing and proving out corporate and integrated commercial group strategies (LNG marketing, gas supply, gas transportation, business development and low carbon) across development, operations and growth to capture value and execute corporate vision.
- Providing corporate strategy and modeling support to commercial group teams.
- Influencing commercial deal structuring to ensure corporate alignment with a solutions oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- Resilient and able to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Flexibility and availability if international time zones require non-standard working hours.
- Ability to travel abroad including China, Japan, Korea, US, and Mexico in order to meet the needs of the business.
- Strong sense of accountability and urgency in performing work responsibilities
- Proven ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people with a cooperative team-orientated approach.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Self-motivated, engaged and focused on delivering high quality results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, including PowerPoint.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, and to articulate/prepare complex information simply with a clear story line and message.
- Must have experience in a commercial, business development or project management role within the LNG industry or a related energy industry.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A strong communicator, able to deliver messages both through written reports as well as verbal presentations.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant LNG operating experience.
- Strong organization skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and a fast-paced workload.
