Director of Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Management, Americas

As a manufacturer of high quality, high performing eyeglass lenses, the company is driving optical technology innovation with the aim of finding the best vision care solutions for Eye Care Professionals.


Our client is seeking a versatile and proactive professional who can successfully oversee the entire process of designing, delivering, and evaluating organizational effectiveness, talent management, and training and development programs and policies in the Americas region.


Your objectives:

As the Director of Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Management, you will be measured against the following objectives:


1) Designing, developing, and delivering organizational development and talent management interventions

2) Execution of Organisational Talent Reviews and drive the follow up actions including successor development and high-potential talent pool development

3) Ability to leverage the IRIS Internal Talent Marketplace to foster internal talent mobility and skills-based talent decision making


What you will do:

As the Director of Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Management your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implement IRIS 360-degree behavioural assessments for all people managers and individual contributors as part of the Group Performance Management Framework
  • Deploy an employee reward and recognition framework that covers local awards, rewards and recognition programs
  • Implement a Talent Development and Training strategy in the Americas in alignment with the Global OE & TM COE covering leadership development Track historical contact with customer.
  • Own and program-manage employee engagement surveys and follow-through action plans
  • Implement the HVC global onboarding program
  • Capable of sitting for extended periods of time, using a keyboard & mouse, lifting up to 10 pounds and speaking in a professional manner in person and via phone and email.
  • Support the execution of global Total Rewards projects like Short-Term Incentive Reviews, Job Architecture deployment etc. to drive stronger alignment of pay with performance
  • Deploy globally mandated psychometric assessments for selection, talent development and leadership development to improve the quality of hires and promotes and enhance team and individual performance
  • Must be able to travel both nationally and internationally up to 25% of the time. Occasionally, more travel might be required based on business needs. Travel to countries with strict drug laws like Singapore, Japan and Dubai will be periodically required and an inability to do so will materially affect the candidate’s ability to perform their job.
  • Implement the HVC Ways of Working policy
  • In partnership with regional human resources, design and manage a university outreach program aimed at attracting and retaining young talent
  • In partnership with regional human resources teams and global COEs, plan and program-manage global performance management processes such as goal setting, period check ins, mid-year reviews and year-end performance reviews.
  • Drive the communication and internalisation of CLEAR values through a comprehensive bottom-up and top-down campaign
  • Execute the Employee Experience program aimed at positively impacting key employee experience touchpoints at HVC


What you will bring:

These are the skills and experience you will need to succeed as the Director of Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Management

  • Experience managing executive-level stakeholders and driving HR change programs, especially related to the deliverables listed in the Key Accountabilities section of this document
  • Time management, prioritization and task management
  • Experience with enterprise HRIS systems for talent management, preferably Oracle Fusion or Workday
  • Broad and deep expertise in OE/TM/TD
  • Must have worked with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, sales and support audiences
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills at the power-user level
  • Assertiveness, negotiation and influencing
  • Exceptionally strong presentation skills
  • Training facilitation
  • Minimum 18 years of experience overall in HR, with at least 5 years of multi-national experience as a OE/TM/TD leader in a mid-sized or large matrixed organisation, and at least 5 years in other areas of HR or as a generalist. Extensive exposure to LATAM in addition to North America is a must
  • International project and program management in North America and LATAM countries. Strong cross-cultural competence in LATAM countries, especially Brazil and Columbia
  • Fluency in English. Other regional languages would be an added advantage
