Job Purpose
Partner business leaders and P&O colleagues to diagnose and address complex organizational challenges within and across Novartis’ businesses, enabling Novartis to successfully and sustainably drive its transformation, contributing to the mission of reimagining medicine to improve and extend people’s lives
Major Accountabilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Builds OD skills across P&O and line managers globally. This includes contributing to formal and informal learning, transferring skills on projects, knowledge sharing, and coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Actively contributes to development of OD practice areas such as org & operating model design, org health & diagnosis, change mngt. 20% of time spent on
  • As a consultant, works with business leaders and their teams to address organization challenges and opportunities and creates the organizational capability needed to drive business performance. This includes seeking to make the complex more simple for the business
  • Diagnoses root causes, and leads delivery of high-quality organization design, development and change management advice and interventions in line with diagnosis done
  • Contributes expertise to the development and implementation of high quality and practical OD approaches, methodology and toolkit for specific practice areas, bringing a level of thought leadership, external research and insights
  • As a rounded consultant, leverages deep skill in diagnosis, org and operating model design and change management, as well as team and leader development
  • Leads consulting projects and often partners with colleagues from various expertise areas in and beyond P&O incl Strategy, Conexts, Finance and others
  • Partners with business leaders and P&O colleagues to diagnose and address prioritized, complex organizational challenges within and across Novartis businesses, to unlock disproportionate value. The role is predominantly project based with approx. 80% of time spent on consulting delivery:

This is a site-based role at Cambridge, MA. Consideration may be given for distance working arrangements (There may be exceptions based on US Legal Entity registration). This role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific Cambridge, MA for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249,600 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors

Minimum requirements

Education
  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field required

Work Experience
  • Presence with senior leader engagement and facilitation, strong influencing ability incl challenge, through consulting, communication and relationship building skills. Known for strong collaboration and networking
  • Minimum 10+ years OD, strategy or transformation consulting experience in large scale transformations, complex OD/ change management interventions or business improvement projects
  • Successful track record in application of OD and consulting tools and solutions in solving complex business problems and delivering global projects. Diagnosing organizations and understanding organizational health using various data measurement and analysis methods, combined with the ability to determine the appropriate interventions to shift performance outcomes
  • Lead Organization Development interventions, based on solid understanding of organizations as whole systems. Support senior teams to achieve high performance through effective Team Development interventions
  • Proven analytical and conceptual skills, combined with ability to implement with a practical and pragmatic business focus. Design change management strategies and lead implementation of change, including behavior and culture change

Preferred
  • External consulting and/or business leadership experience would be valuable
  • Postgraduate and working qualifications preferred in the relevant business or applied behavioral sciences (e.g., Strategy, Business Administration, Organization Development, Psychology, HRM, MBB, etc.) preferred

Languages
  • Fluency in English required with excellent oral and written communication skills
