Position Title: Senior Director of Information Technology
Location: Dallas, TX (North)
Reports To: Senior Vice President of Business Operations
Supervises: Information Systems Specialists, IT Flow Coordinators, Clinical Applications Manager, Clinical Applications Specialist
Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Grade: E-13

Summary

  • The Senior Director of Information Technology (Sr Dir of IT) directs, manages and ensures efficient and optimal performance of the organization’s information technology and business application systems for the affiliate. This position is responsible to plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities for the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical organization operations. Ensures productivity expectations, customer service and compliance standards are maintained. Abides by the organization’s mission in performing job duties. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service.

Essential Job Functions & Expetations

  • Produces timely and accurate reports to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and regulatory agencies. Has unrestricted access to client protected health information (PHI) on paper and electronic forms for purposes of treatment, payment, and/or healthcare operations. The use of a client’s protected health information should be limited to information needed for the specific task that is being performed or requested by the individual client. Disclosure of any client information must be for purposes of treatment, payment or healthcare operation OR must be accompanied by a valid authorization. Other related duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
  • Negotiates administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Benchmarks, monitors, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Oversees the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all hardware and software.
  • Directly supervises and manages the Information Technology (IT) and Clinical Applications teams for the organization.
  • In conjunction with senior leadership, formulates and deploys annual and long-term (five-year) strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information technology, information security, collaboration and communication technologies.
  • Defines and communicates project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to executive team, department leads, support staff, and end users.
  • Serves as the organization’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Officer.
  • Partners with Human Resources on internal investigations as needed.
  • Reviews performance of IT systems to assess operating costs, productivity levels, security, refresh, and upgrade requirements.

Minimum Education/ Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of IT-related professional experience or Associate’s degree + 6 years of IT-related professional experience and 4 years of IT experience (10 years total) or High School diploma or equivalent + 6 years of IT-related professional experience and 8 years of IT experience (14 years total). Must have a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience. Director level leadership experience preferred. Must have experience in the following: Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Cisco Meraki networking, UCaaS/CCaaS, User Lifecycle Management, Technology Lifecycle Management, Vendor Lifecycle Management, DR/BC, MSP/MSSP Management, Strategic Technology Planning.
