Job Description

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the overall success of the Sales and Marketing Department. This includes setting and meeting sales goals, developing and implementing strategic plans, and providing leadership and mentoring to the team.


Core Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, leadership, and mentoring to Sales & Marketing Department
  • Set the precedent for excellence through leading by example
  • Oversee day-to-day sales, monitoring, and forecasting to better understand the market
  • Listen to, understand, and convey customer requirements to NPD and Tech Support areas
  • Cultivate and deepen client relationships and partnerships that add value
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives
  • Articulate market positioning, market changes, and opportunities, the status of ongoing projects and future projects, and strategy for growth to the Senior Management Team
  • Continually assess marketing techniques and their efficacy in affecting sales
  • Take calculated risks to increase profitability and brand recognition
  • Assign priorities and oversee the scheduling of projects and travel for Sales Department
  • Create and successfully implement a strategic plan for an increase in sales and customers
  • Domestic and International Travel to customer/supplier sites as needed
  • Assist in the design and development of new products and tools necessary to make target accounts comfortable and successful with implementing and selling company products


Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment
  • Read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems
  • Prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent systems skills including Excel, Outlook, Word
  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering, and 10 years experience in a Sales Leadership role in a technical field; or a combination of successful related education and experience
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
